Patties Food's frozen desserts brand, Nanna's, is moving beyond fruit pies and into European-style doughnuts with the launch of a new 'special treats' range.
The new Nanna’s Donut range includes Mini Jam Ball Donuts, Mini Donuts variety pack with three different flavours (sugar-coated, white-iced with sprinkles and chocolate iced), and Choc Hazelnut Filled Donuts which are individually wrapped.
According to Patties, Nanna’s Donuts are made with a traditional yeast-raised recipe, which gives them a richer texture, and the convenience of thaw-and-eat serving.
Nanna’s marketing manager, Jane Westney, said while traditional apple and fruit pies remained a family favourite, new ‘special treat’ Nanna’s Donuts had been developed to cater to an emerging consumer trend.
“Time-poor consumers and smaller household sizes are driving increased demand for snacking/treat-sized products that are quick-serve and offer good portion control.
“There’s also a trend to tap into more indulgent flavours, like high quality chocolate, as consumers demand more enticing and fun products,” she said.
Nanna’s Donuts are available in the frozen desserts section at Woolworths and most major independent supermarkets nationally, with a RRP of $5.99 for the 9-pack Mini Jam Ball Donuts, 9-pack Mini Donuts and 5-pack Choc Hazelnut Filled Donuts.
