Australian food company Menora Foods is reportedly on the brink of being acquired by a Filipino company.

Monde Nissin Corporation, which last year acquired Australian dip brand Black Swan, is believed to be buying the privately-owned marketing and distribution company, according to a report by the Australian Financial Review.

Menora Foods was founded 45 years ago in Melbourne as a small specialty food wholesaler, and it now operates nationally and employs over 150 people.

Menora Foods owns a number of its own brands and distributes numerous others including Peckish, Chia Pod, Chobani and Huon.

In recent years, the company has expanded into New Zealand and made a multi-million-dollar investment in a state-of-the-art facility in Melbourne's Noble Park, which includes warehousing for dry, chilled, frozen and confectionery products.

Menora has naming rights sponsorship of The Women’s National Basketball League.
