Flavour company McCormick is ramping its annual flavour forecast up a notch this year with the launch of retail products based on its research findings.

The company will launch a series of spice blends that take-in the outcome of its research into the most influential flavour trends of tomorrow.

The products include Jalapeno Sea Salt with a hint of lemon; Tempero Bahiano, a Brazillian-inspired spice blend; Kashmiri Masala, an Indian-inspired spice blend; and a berry flavour shot: Plum Sumac Black Tea with a lemon twist.

The products were announced at the launch of its Flavour Forecast 2014 where the company identified five of the following key flavour trends for the future:

  •     Chilli obsession: the discovery of new chilli flavours and cooking methods
  •     Modern masala: curry appreciation moves to the next level with more flavours in new contexts
  •     Clever compact cooking: the movement towards multi-purpose kitchen appliances
  •     Mexican world tour: people will embrace the authentic elements of this bold, casual cuisine
  •     Charmed by Brazil: its vibrant flavours are poised to emerge as a powerful influence in cooking
