McCain Foods' pre-cut and seasoned roast potatoes were voted number one in an independent consumer survey undertaken by Nielsen.

The Roasts were given the Product of the Year award in the Frozen Sides category, as judged by the 14,300 household shoppers who participated.

McCain's marketing manager Angela Thorpe said more Australians wanted “that Sunday roast feeling any night of the week”.

The pre-cut Roasts are ready in 30 minutes and claim to have “fluffy insides and crisp, seasoned outsides in homestyle flavours of Traditional and Rosemary and Garlic".

Packaging will now display a Product of the Year stamp.

The 800g bag has a recommended retail price of $4.49.
