The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) is now accepting applications for the 2018 Master of Food & Packaging Course after a successful run in 2017.

A total of 37 students recently spent two intensive weeks of lectures for the course at the University of Melbourne as part of the joint initiative between the AIP and the university.

Course lecturers covered both the Food Packaging Materials and Processes unit and the Food Packaging Design unit of the Master of Food & Packaging Course.

Close to 20 industry experts provided the course content.

The AIP is responsible for content delivery for both units, and all the course lecturers are hand-selected for their expertise by the institute.

Students came from Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

The Master of Food and Packaging Innovation is a new inter-disciplinary degree that explores food science, entrepreneurship and innovation in product and packaging design at an advanced level.

Applicants for the 2018 course can look forward to learning the skills necessary for developing valuable and innovative food products that address key issues such as transportability, durability, tamper proofing and perishability, as well as looking at key environmental, economic, social and ethical factors.
