A baby formula heist ended in the arrest of a NSW man this week after a high-speed police chase.

Police tried to pull over a stolen table-top truck in Condell Park early on Tuesday morning, but the heavy vehicle sped off.

Police ended the pursuit out of safety concerns but later found the truck in a nearby industrial complex, arresting a 39-year-old man.

The truck had been carrying dozens of boxes of baby formula tins, stolen earlier from Regents Park.

The man was charged with driving while disqualified and not stopping for police.

Police are now considering charges relating to the stolen truck and its contents.

The stolen baby formula has an estimated black market value of between $16,000 and $24,000.

Coles is now limiting baby formula to four tins per customer, with the demand coming largely from buyers in China.
