Victorian poultry processor, Luv-a-Duck, is fighting allegations it engaged in deceptive conduct through the promotion of its products.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) initiated legal action in March against Luv-a-Duck for promoting its ducks as being "grown and grain fed in the spacious Wimmera wheatlands".

The regulator alleged Luv-a-Duck's products were processed from animals which had no substantial access to the outdoors.

However, Luv-a-Duck has rejected the claims on the grounds that it stopped using those statements in its promotional material last year.

According to ABC News, the case returned to the Federal Court in Melbourne today with the parties to return to court for a five-day trial in October.
