New Zealand’s biennial packaging and processing technology trade event, Foodtech Packtech, is on track to be the biggest in over a decade according to organisers.

Nearly 200 local and overseas industry suppliers will be showcasing the latest technologies, products and services at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland from October 11-13.

A strong Australian contingent will be exhibiting, including A&D Australasia & A&D Weightec, ABB, AccuWeigh & AccuPak, Confoil, Fibre King, Heat and Control, HMPS, IFM Electronic, Integrated Packaging, JL Lennard, JMP Engineering, KHS, Multivac, Omron, Propac, Rhima, Rockwell Automation, Romheld, SICK, SMC Pneumatics, TNA, Tronics, Walls Machinery and Wedderburn.

The Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA), which counts all of these companies as members, will also be exhibiting at Foodtech Packtech.

Show organiser Deb Haimes said: “There’s a huge pipeline of innovative new products being launched onsite at the show, in some cases southern hemisphere firsts.”

The Foodtech Packtech 2016 theme of Adding Value to NZ’s Food Chain will be addressed over the three days through live product demonstrations, special features and a very full schedule of free industry lead education and learning seminars, she said.

The event is also being co-located with the Materials Handling & Logistics Expo (MHL).

“Bringing MHL to the show helps complete that value chain ‘pasture (or sea) to plate capability’ for food manufacturers,” Haimes said.

“There is very strong industry support for Foodtech Packtech 2016, which, I believe, reflects the current industry and economic sentiment.”
