Lion continues to make inroads into Asia's craft beer market with the opening of a new micro-brewery and restaurant in Singapore recently.

Called Little Creatures, the venue is Lion’s second opening in Asia, following the launch of Little Creatures Kennedy Town in Hong Kong in 2016.

Lion global markets managing director Matt Tapper said there had been a surge in demand for craft beer in Asia, and he believed “quality products with genuine credentials” would do well.

“Now is an excellent time to step into the south-east Asian market by creating a home for one of Australia’s best loved craft beer brands in Singapore,” he said.

“The combination of productive free-trade agreements and the emerging Asian middle-class are providing the right conditions for Lion’s expansion into new markets.”

Lion is seeking to become a part of the local Singapore community with the new venue, which can host up to 280 people.

It stocks the full range of Little Creatures beers, and has the capacity to brew on-site.

The venue will also pour White Rabbit’s White Ale and James Squire Orchard Crush Cider.

The company plans to open a third venue in London by the end of the year.
