Lindt & Sprüngli Australia is donating every dollar that was spent on Tuesday 15 December at its Martin Place store to charity to mark 12 months since the Lindt Cafe siege that ended tragically.

Three died in the seige, including Sydney barrister Katrina Dawson, who was the daughter of former Arnott's managing director and CEO Alexander Dawson, and the manager of the Lindt Cafe, Tori Johnson.

The money will be donated to the Katrina Dawson Foundation, which finds, funds and mentors inspiring young women, and beyondblue, the charity chosen by Tori Johnson’s family.

Lindt Australia wrote the following on its Facebook page:

“In memory of Tori Johnson and Katrina Dawson. Our thoughts remain with every person affected by the tragic events of a year ago and with all those who stand up to terror and violence.”

A twilight ceremony was held in Martin Place to mark the anniversary.
