Simplot has brought whole grains to the freezer food section with a new premium range of pre-prepared meals under the Lean Cuisine brand.

The new range, called Steam Whole Grains, includes Moroccan Chicken with Couscous & Lentils, Mexican Chicken with Brown Rice & Quinoa and Chicken, and Chickpea Curry with Brown Rice & Quinoa.

Each meal includes whole grains like red and white quinoa, brown rice, wholemeal couscous and wild rice, as well as two full serves of vegetables and chicken.

Each Steam Whole Grains meal also has a two-part cooking tray to retain the flavours and consistency of the meals during heating.

The quick-cook meals have a Health Rating of 4 Stars and have no artificial preservatives, colours or flavours.

Sam Laycock, general manager, Frozen Meal, Potato and Vegetables at Simplot, says the new range suits customers looking for a tasty, healthy and convenient meal option.

“It’s a common misconception that frozen meals can’t deliver on being both tasty and nutritious, as well as convenient. We know that in today's busy world people want to taste it all without any compromises, and Lean Cuisine’s delicious Steam Whole Grains range is doing just that,” says Laycock.

“There's no reason for consumers to compromise on taste and nutrition for convenient frozen meals because Lean Cuisine Steam Whole Grains has it all.”

The Steam Whole Grains range is available in Woolworths, Coles and independent supermarkets for a recommended retail price of $6.69 for a 350g serving.

The launch has been supported by a full advertising campaign.
