The author and creator of the I Quit Sugar brand Sarah Wilson claims her former manufacturing partner is making copycat products.

Wilson, the author of the best-selling book I Quit Sugar, told Fairfax Media that the company Future Generation Foods ceased production on the range due to poor profitability, then introduced its own similar range.

Wilson, who has since sold her recipes, says she never received any money from the sale of the product range during its two years in the market.

Then a few months ago, Future Generation Foods launched its own new range called No Added Sugar, according to the media report.

Wilson says many of the ingredient lists are almost the same as her range, just slightly tweaked, but Future Generation Foods, which is owned by Matthew and Joanne Bailey, denies the claim.

On a recent blog post, Wilson says, “Are they the same products but in new packaging with slightly tweaked ingredient lists? I have asked Future Generation Foods and they deny that they are.

"Some of you have sent me grabs of both products, indicating your confusion. As I say, I was not made aware of the range and am not privy to how the products are made. I can only confirm that I have nothing to do with the No Added Sugar range and, of course, make no money from it.”

“To be honest, the whole situation has surprised and upset me and it’s been suggested I take legal action.”

Jo Bailey of Future Generation Foods told Food & Drink Business that the company preferred not to comment at this time.
