Since the first case of COVID-19 was recorded in Australia on 25 January, the impact on Australian businesses and consumers has grown dramatically. As it stands, more than 153,000 people worldwide have contracted the virus, with more than 250 cases recorded in Australia.

The Uno Group & Co has been working closely with our partners to monitor the developments across a range of industries.

The key to understanding the implications of this pandemic is fast, accurate information. To address this need we have increased our receipt panel to over 1.5 million receipts. This amplifies the speed and breadth of information we have available to better understand the changes in consumer behaviour. The information will extend well beyond traditional shopping channels and into QSR, convenience, meal delivery, online shopping and more.

Just like the SARS crisis in 2002-03, we have started to see a strong demand for online grocery delivery. We expect this to continue and be an inflection point for Australian consumers.

Over the coming months, we will be focusing on providing our retailers and suppliers with a complete 360 view of the patterns arising from COVID-19. We will be covering a massive range of channels to get a fuller view of the potential implications. You will be able to get free consumer trend updates here: https://theunogroupco.com/covid19.

We understand for many retailers and suppliers around Australia, the COVID-19 pandemic is now a reality rather than a looming threat. The Uno Group & Co is committed to providing information quickly, with more accuracy and insights, to give retailers and suppliers the information they need to understand the implications of COVID-19.
