The managing director of Goodman Fielder's Australian operations, Andrew Hipperson, has been killed in a motorcycle accident.

The accident occurred south of Nowra in NSW on Saturday, according to Goodman Fielder.

"Andrew was a valued member of our group executive team and successfully led our Australian operations for just over the past two years," said Goodman Fielder CEO Chris Delaney.

"Andrew will be deeply missed by all of us. We offer our deepest condolences to his wife and family and the thoughts and prayers of the entire company are with them at this very distressing time."

Delaney said in previous roles with the company, Hipperson was the managing director of Goodman Fielder's Home ingredients and Asia Pacific businesses.

“He was widely respected both within our company but also across our industry,” he said.

Goodman Fielder said the Australian business would report directly to Delaney until a replacement was named.
