South Australian Golden North has voluntarily recalled nine of its products following complaints from a customer that their ice cream contained small fragments of metal.

The company's products are made under a number of brands including Black and Gold, Country Style, Foodland, Simple and Golden North, and are sold at a a number of outlets including Coles, Woolworths, Foodland, and IGA.

Golden North said there had been no reports of harm or injury to any consumers, with the product recall “being undertaken for precautionary purposes only to ensure the safety of customers in line with Golden North’s commitment to maintaining the highest possible standards of product quality”.

“Golden North contacted authorities as soon as an issue was detected and is working quickly with retailers to immediately remove the products," it said. “The company apologises for any inconvenience.”
