George Weston Foods has recalled 11 of its garlic bread products after two small pieces of plastic were found in a margarine blender on 11 January.

The margarine was supplied by GrainCorp, which has now withdrawn the ingredient.

Many of the recalled products are sold nationally at retailers including Woolworths, Aldi, Foodworks and IGA, and they have all been removed from shelves.

Both Pizza Hut and Domino's also both sell garlic bread supplied by George Weston Foods, and have removed the item from their menus until further notice.

"Two small pieces of plastic material measuring 9mm cubed were identified by GWF in a margarine blender filter during a routine cleaning process," a company statement said.

All the products believed to be contaminated have ‘use by’ dates between 30 March and 13 July 2017.

The Food Standards Australia New Zealand website published a full list of the recalled items here.
