Freedom Foods' Almond Breeze Barista Blend has won the ‘Best New Food Service Product’ award at Fine Food Australia in Melbourne.

The ‘Best New Food Service Product’ award attracted more than 70 entries and acknowledged the outstanding development and relevance Almond Breeze Barista Blend brings to the food service sector.

Roger Ringwood, country director for Blue Diamond Growers said: “More and more consumers are switching to almond milk as their preferred choice for lattes and cappuccinos for its great taste and health properties. Therefore Almond Breeze Barista Blend provides additional revenue opportunities for the food service sector.”

Other winners in the category were Biozone Scientific for its product Icezone and Lamb Weston for its Ultrahold Fries product.

Rinoldi Pasta won a 'Best New Retail Product’ award for its Vetta Smart Pasta, along with White Prince Mushrooms for its product White Prince Crumbled Mushroom, and Lotus & Ming for its Grab & Go Steam Box.

Awards also went to companies in the Best New Hospitality Product, Best New Bakery Product and Australian Made categories.

27,000 people attended the four-day Fine Food Australia event held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre last week.
