Fine Food's Lions' Den food service innovation finalists have been announced and include the creators of products that hero native Australian super-foods.
The Lions' Den is a new addition to the event, and gives emerging businesses a chance to pitch their product or service to a panel of experts from Nestle, Unilever, Food Industry Foresight and Food Innovation Australia Limited (FIAL), who will in turn provide insight and industry feedback.
Event director Minnie Constan said: “The Lions’ Den is a great example of the platform that Fine Food Australia creates for those in the industry. We’re committed to providing unique and valuable opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs to engage with the food industry.
“The Lions’ Den offers a special opportunity for emerging businesses to get feedback from some of the industry’s leading experts on what it takes to succeed.”
The finalists are:
The Australian Superfood Co, which focuses on Australian native superfoods and indigenous culture, using fruits such as Kakadu Plum, Lemon Myrtle, Quandong and Riberry.
Kind Provisions, which creates subscription boxes catering to those with diabetes, Coeliac disease, and food allergies.
Kakadu Plum Co, an Australia's native bush superfood company that exists to support the Australian Indigenous people, communities, and the native Australian food industry.
Noah Facial Recognition, a world first facial recognition software enhancing customer loyalty and retention for the cafe industry enabling all staff to provide a more personalised service.
Ordermentum, which helps Australian businesses get their orders and payments in on time with a mobile ordering and payment system.
Nom Noms, a new multi-award winning British born brand in the prepared meals and food to go categories around the world.
The event will be facilitated by Adam Moore, chef for Cerebos.
