Australia's best new food and retail products in the retail, bakery, foodservice and hospitality equipment categories were announced at Fine Food Australia.

Bickford and Sons Sparkling Range by Bickfords Australia, Otentic Durum by Puratos Australia-New Zealand, and Tea & Spice Handcrafted Chai by Tea & Spice were among the winners.

The Best New Product Awards, which recognise the most outstanding products to have launched in the food industry in the last twelve months, were announced at a cocktail function at the Showtime Events Centre, Melbourne.

According to event organisers, the awards celebrate the innovations that have resulted in sophisticated products and solutions for the industry.

“2016 proved to be an exciting year for our industry – there’s been many interesting trends, interest in foods and industry innovations that have seen so much evolve. As an industry, we constantly need to keep up with consumer demands,” event director Minnie Constan, who hosted the ceremony, said.

“The Best New Product Awards have demonstrated that we aren’t just keeping up, but we’re doing it exceptionally well with businesses creating some incredibly innovative products.

“These awards are both for recognition and for celebrating everything that is great about the business we are in.”
