Food Frontier’s AltProteins 25 is taking place next Tuesday 14 October at Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to join innovators, researchers, and policymakers in discussing the future of the Australian and global food systems – with half price tickets up for grabs!

Set to take place in New South Wales for the first time, AltProteins 25 showcases companies working in the alternative proteins sector at the southern hemisphere’s biggest conference for the industry.

Headline speaker, former BBC World News presenter and founder of the Thinking the Unthinkable project, Nik Gowing, will share his work exploring how leaders and organisations can more effectively respond to disruption and complexity in an era of accelerating change.

This year’s event is taking a bold new approach to centering disruptive ideas, with several Australian companies currently leading the charge towards future food – such as biotech company Nourish Ingredients, which just established a global commercial hub in the Netherlands after achieving its first major production run in China and receiving FEMA GRAS status in the US earlier this year.

Nourish co-founder and CEO, James Petrie, will be speaking during one of the first sessions of the day, alongside chief business officer of California-based Mission Barns, Cecilia Chang, and founder of Green Queen Media, Sonalie Figueiras, from Hong Kong.

For those who missed out on ANU and Cellular Agriculture Australia (CAA)'s Made & Grown event in August, AltProteins 25 is bringing some of the attending experts back together to speak on the power of biomanufacturing – with CAA CEO, Sam Perkins, and the Australian Strategic Policy Institute deputy director national security programs, Raelene Lockhorst.

Food Frontier is also collaborating with CSIRO to host an interactive session for food manufacturers of all sizes to have their say about the future of the sector in Australia – and lay the groundwork for addressing shared challenges, together.

The interactive session, “Food Manufacturing 2050: Shaping the Future of Sustainable, Resilient Food Systems”, will be led by the Australian Food Innovation Network (convened by CSIRO), who are keen to consult manufacturers as a central part of their Food Manufacturing 2050 initiative.

The initiative’s ambitious goal is to support the sustainability and resilience of Australia’s food manufacturing sector by facilitating the collective design of an R&D and innovation agenda towards 2050.

The full program is now online at foodfrontier.org, with many more sessions led by industry experts exploring how alternative protein companies can branch out into exports, raise capital, implement technology, and keep up with trends.

This is not an event to be missed.

Food & Drink Business has partnered with AltProteins 25 to offer two lucky readers free tickets (first in best dressed) as well as a discount code offering half price tickets to any prospective attendees. Head to this link and use the code F&DHALFOFF to claim the offer – we look forward to seeing you there!
