Murray Goulburn's Devondale 'Glow Girl' ad has been deemed to be 'misleading' with regard to preservatives by the Ad Standards Bureau.

The Devondale ad, which includes the tagline “preservatives have consequences” has attracted public criticism for fear-mongering.

In the ad, a young girl can be seen glowing in the dark, and according to Devondale, was part of a humorous series of campaigns.

The Ad Standards Bureau, however, found the tagline, in combination with the glowing girl, amounted to an “overall suggestion that preservatives are bad for you”.

Devondale has agreed to modify the ad tagline to: “What are you feeding your kids?”
