The world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirits brand Seedlip has launched in Sydney, following successful launches in London, New York and California.

The product comes in two variants, Seedlip Garden 108, which is made from peas and hay from a family farm, as well as spearmint, rosemary & thyme. Seedlip Spice 94 is made from all spice berries & cardamom, citrus peel and oak and cascarilla bark bitter.

Seedlip is being sold in Australia at David Jones as well as in 30 Merivale venues, and UK-based founder, a designer and home-grown herb enthusiast, Ben Branson told Food & Drink Business that he created the product after noticing a gap in the alcohol-free cocktail market.

The dots started to join, he said, after realising that “while we can put people on moon, and do amazing things in the world, we can't get a good grown up drink when we're not drinking that's not full of sugar”.

The products, just two years in the making, now have support from some of best chefs and bartenders in world, Branson said.

Branson plans to launch new products next year, and to this end, is currently building a lab and experimental plant nursery on his farm.

“We don’t want to create a massive range, but we do have a couple of products we want to launch, and by the middle of next year, these should be on a boat to Australia,” he said.
