Professional services organisation, Deloitte, is conducting a survey investigating the use of climate-smart practices in Australian farming, and is currently seeking producer input. The research will be used by the Australian Food & Agriculture Taskforce to map a pathway to a climate-resilient national food system.

Deloitte regularly gathers data related to climate change perspectives in line with its Climate & Sustainability practice, which integrates cross-firm capabilities to serve the climate-led transformation needs of its clients.

The company states that it combines the best of climate, sustainability, and sector expertise with strategy and organisational transformation capability with an aim to help Australia become a productive and competitive net-zero economy by 2050.

The current survey aims to understand how and why climate-smart practices are or are not used on farms across Australia, to enable the Taskforce to better understand the matters important to Australian farmers seeking to develop and leverage climate-smart practices.

Responses will help shape the outputs of the Taskforce with real, on-farm insights which will be used to inform the farming community and provide input to policy makers.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, responses will remain anonymous, and no personal details are requested.

As the knowledge and analytics partner on the Taskforce, Deloitte will compile and analyse all the survey responses. Insights will inform the development of a position paper, which will be published in the second half of 2024 and shared with survey respondents.

The survey is available here, and any queries on the process or questionnaire can be forwarded to Chloe Fisher at chfisher@deloitte.com.au.
