When the four-day triennial food industry exhibition, foodpro 2014, rolls into Melbourne on Sunday, it will bring with it a brand new dimension: free educational seminars.
The seminars which run over two days (Monday and Tuesday) cover a range of topics such as exporting within the dairy industry, research and development, marketing fresh ready made meals, the process of paddock to plate and how technology can help.
Presenters include: Charles McElhone, group manager – Trade and Industry Strategy, Dairy Australia, Dairy Industry Association of Australia; Phil Clarke, deputy chief of operations, CSIRO; and Paul McGuire, marketing manager Darfresh and Ready Meals, Sealed Air.
All seminar sessions are 40 minutes and will include question and answer time at the end, with the exception of the first session on Monday, which will be 90 minutes. Limited seating is available for seminars and bookings can be made by visiting www.foodproexh.com.
The 20,000 square metres of foodpro 2014 exhibition space space at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, sold out weeks ago and a handful of exhibitors are on a waiting list.
Visitor registrations are already promising a strong event, which runs from Sunday June 22 to Wednesday June 25, according to foodpro exhibition manager Peter Petherick.
“Australian food manufacturers know that an exhibition of this magnitude only comes along once every three years: this year’s event promises to bring the latest products, innovative ideas and technological advances from around the world straight to their home turf," Petherick said.
Petherick also said foodpro’s move to Melbourne this year offers a huge opportunity to food manufacturers based in south-east Australia, who will be able to see the latest technology available to the industry in one place.
The event is divided into four key precincts; Food Science & Technology, Packaging, Processing Machinery and Plant Equipment.
