A collaboration between Coles and international celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal announced last year has culminated in the launch of 15 new 'Heston for Coles' branded products spanning the ready meal, meat, bakery and grocery categories.

The new range, which is now being sold in Coles supermarkets nationally, includes slow cooked dishes like ribs and Asian pork, as well as beef burgers, sausages, pies and sauces.

A number of Australian manufacturers, including Beak & Johnston, were contracted to manufacture the products.

The new range was the result of 12 months of development, which involved working with manufacturers to adapt the recipes to suit large scale production, and working with local Australian ingredients, Blumenthal said at the launch at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney.

“We put a lot of work in to develop these and I think it shows in all of the products, but for me one of the big things was this journey of discovery,” he said.

Kendra Banks, general manager of Coles brand and customer insights also said her team and Blumenthal's team had “been on a bit of a journey together” in identifying local flavours and the best produce for the  range.

“We have created some new products and some fantastic Aussie flavours with a bit of the Heston magic and we are really proud of this range because that Heston magic will now be on tables across Australia.

“Not everyone can get a booking at the Fat Duck I'm reliably assured, but everyone will be able to find the Heston for Coles range, which will be available nationwide.”
