Family owned bakery Mrs Mac’s says it is gearing up for significant future growth with the appointment of a new chief executive officer.

Paul Slaughter, former general manager of the Metcash Food & Grocery (IGA) in Western Australia, has been appointed as the new CEO.

Slaughter led the IGA wholesale, manufacturing and distribution business, and he was also director of the Metcash Transformation project in Sydney, leading a 65-strong team to transform that business nationally.

His previous roles include general manager for Procter & Gamble leading the Coles Customer team and national business manager for Arnott’s Campbell’s leading the Woolworths Customer Team. He has also worked for a range of smaller West Australian food companies including Anchor Foods.

Since the death of the company’s managing director Iain Macgregor in February 2012, Mrs Mac's has been overseen by other Macgregor family members.

Mrs Mac's chairman Peter Fallon, says the business is now positioning itself for significant future growth, both in its traditional categories as well as in broader food categories.

“Paul brings an additional level of professionalism and experience to the Mrs Mac’s team and will position the company for growth and expansion domestically and internationally,” says Fallon.
