Coles has appointed former Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan as the face of its latest Down Down campaign.

Donovan will help the retailer to promote its latest price drop, which includes lower prices on 34 San Remo pasta products and on Coles Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies.

According to Coles, pasta is a key ingredient in shopping baskets and Australians purchase more than 46 million kilograms each year.

Coles chief customer officer Simon McDowell said, “We know families are shopping on a budget so they need to get value right across the store. Pasta is a go-to for many families that are busy and on a budget so we hope by dropping prices by up to 25 per cent, we can help make a real difference to their shopping bill.

“Casey is one of Australian’s favourite entertainers so she’s a perfect fit for her to lead our campaign and bring her unique sound and personality. We hope our customers will enjoy dancing Down Down our aisles while picking up lower prices.”

Donovan, said, “I feel honoured and privileged to be the new face of Down Down at Coles. Not only is Coles the one stop shop to get Down Down savings but Coles also does a lot of fabulous things for charities and to support local communities. I love that!

“With the cost of living so expensive, it is important that everyone can buy their groceries at an affordable price and still have time and money to do the fun things they love,” she said.

This latest round of price reductions brings the total products added to its Every Day low pricing over the last 12 months to more than 1000, the retailer said.

Packaging News

Industry leaders have renewed calls for national packaging reform, warning that Australia's manufacturing resilience, recycling investment and sovereign capability remain vulnerable without policy action to create demand for locally recycled content and provide a more level competitive playing field.

Australia's emerging soft plastics recycling infrastructure is ready to process significantly more material, according to Soft Plastic Stewardship Australia, which has launched a three-month campaign aimed at boosting consumer returns and strengthening domestic supply of recycled resin.

PKN’s latest print issue is hitting desks and landing in inboxes, bringing readers up to speed with the people, technologies and innovations shaping packaging, printing and processing across Australia and beyond.
