Casella Family Brands has joined global collaborative platform, Sustainable Wine Roundtable (SWR), and says it will support in driving global sustainability standards in the wine industry through collaboration, accountability and information-sharing between members.

With over 90 members, SWR acts as an independent collaborative platform to advance sustainability across the wine industry from production through to retail.

SWR is creating a global sustainability reference standard and developing tools that improve vineyard chemistry, labour standards, packaging, bottle weight and low carbon logistics.

Casella Family Brands global marketing and export sales manager Libby Nutt said Casella looked forward to furthering its activities and addressing sustain ability issues in the industry.

“We are proud to be working with members who share a similar vision in preserving the natural environment, respecting human rights and generating a passion to better the industry,” said Nutt.

Casella Family Brands sustainability manager Sarah Bräude recently spoke at the SWR’s Global Climate Conference, and echoed her statements.

“Working collectively will create numerous opportunities to increase global sustainable wine production standards and address pressing issues in this field. Casella Family Brands is thrilled to play an active role in future projects that directly support our sustainability values and advance sustainability in the wine sector,” said Bräude.

As the producer of [yellow tail], the ‘World’s Most Powerful Wine Brand’, Casella Family Brands said it is strengthening its collaboration with stakeholders across the wine value chain to further define and guide what sustainability success looks like for the industry.
