Australian cereal and snack manufacturer Carman’s has acquired snack brand Fruit Wise. It is the first acquisition for Carman’s. Carman’s founder Carolyn Creswell said the deal stemmed from a phone call.

Creswell said, “My kids have loved Fruit Wise fruit straps for over 15 years. Given how much we all loved the product, I decided to pick up the phone to see if there was any opportunity to work together.

“After a year of discussions, our unparalleled similarities and outlook on healthy snacking helped us finalise what is now Carman’s first ever acquisition.”

For Fruit Wise managing director Bridget Beal, selling the 15-year-old family business to Carman’s felt like the right move.

“After speaking with Carolyn we knew straight away that this was the right move for Fruit Wise. We wanted to make sure we were passing over the reins to someone just like Carolyn, who shared the same outlook about delicious and healthy snacking and looking after Aussie families. We can’t wait to watch Fruit Wise grow under the care of Carman’s.”

Creswell said Fruit Wise will stay in its current Adelaide Hills location.

“With so much uncertainty in the world over the last two years, locally made products are becoming more and more important to Aussie families. That's why I place so much pride in the fact we’re 100 per cent Australian owned and manufactured.”
