Australian powdered milk company Camperdown Dairy International (CDI) has provided a way for consumers to quickly purchase infant formula online.

Following the shortage of in-demand infant formula in Australia, both local and international consumers, such as those requiring it in China, can now access the company's three-step formula range through an online store.

“Consumers no longer have to scour the isles of their local supermarkets in search of high quality infant formula,” CDI general manager – powder division, Gavin Evans, said.

“Customers can be assured our infant formula is sourced from local Australian dairy farms and is among the safest available anywhere in the world.

“We go to great lengths to ensure all Camperdown Dairy International products are manufactured to the highest food quality standards.”

CDI is Australian owned and all products are made from 100 per cent Australian milk.

“We have also enabled our customers to check the authenticity of our products through the use of a convenient QR code which is unique to each tin produced,” said Evans.

“By laser-printing unique codes on the bottom of each tin, we are providing our customers with full traceability across the supply chain and direct access to health and safety information specific to each product at the touch of a button.

“CDI customers can scan the QR code with their mobile phones to access important information about the individual tin such as manufacture date, expiry, batch numbers, where the product has come from as well as company information and contact details.”

For the code, CDI used technology from a New Zealand company called Trust Codes (formerly Expander), which worked in collaboration with Matthews Australasia.

Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
