Cadbury was today named a major partner of Australia's 2016 Paralympic team in Rio.

As part of the sponsorship, the chocolate manufacturer will create content that encourages local support of the athletes.

The company has also partnered with the Australian Olympic Team in launching a campaign called Bring on the Joy, which shows support for all athletes.

Cadbury's Lauren Fildes says the Australian Paralympic team is made up of a group of high-performing athletes who inspire and excite Australians.

“Regardless of their abilities or disabilities, all our athletes in Rio have the ability to 'bring on the joy',” she said.

“We're very proud to support both teams and help free the joy that they will undoubtedly bring to the nation through their accomplishments."
