Cadbury has partnered with Aboriginal artist Kenita-Lee McCartney to create a limited-edition Roses box. Titled “Kalintyerra”, the illustration draws on the artist’s connection to the land and her love for those closest to her.
A proud Wemba Wemba, Wiradjuri, Wotjiboluk, Nari Nari and Boon Wurrung woman, Kenita-Lee McCartney says that it’s important to take a moment to reconnect in the busy world of today, and says the symbols on her design are intertwined with creeks, rivers and waterways and represent a greater story of endless love.
“Connection is what shapes and strengthens the love we share with loved ones. I was so humbled and grateful to be part of this collaboration with a brand that holds similar values, as the notion of Kalintyerra is something I hold close to my heart,” said McCartney.
Over the last three years, Cadbury has partnered with Indigenous Australian artists to create limited-edition Roses pack designs. To celebrate Mother’s Day last year, the company released a box featuring graphics and symbols emblazoned with Mandaang guwu, the words 'thank you' in Wiradjuri, designed by artist Karen Lee.
For the third year running, Cadbury Roses will donate $50,000 to its ongoing charity partner, The Stars Foundation, which supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women by improving health and education outcomes and providing pathway opportunities through holistic mentoring.
According to the organisation, 98 per cent of girls within The Stars Foundation Program have graduated secondary school and 85 per cent of graduates went on to apply for further study or entered the workforce.
Andrea Goddard, Founder and CEO of The Stars Foundation said thw foundation was thankful for Cadbury Roses’ ongoing support of the program.
“This level of investment enables Stars to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women through school, to complete year 12 and transition to work or study. We’re consistently seeing outstanding outcomes for those taking part,” said Goddard.
The Cadbury Roses Limited Edition box is filled with Classic Milk, Hazelnut Creme Crisp, Vanilla Nougat, White Raspberry, Caramel Deluxe, Hazelnut Swirl, Turkish Delight, Classic Caramel, Peppermint Crème Crunch and Dark Mocha Nougat flavours and is available for RRP $16.00 at local supermarkets.
