The meat-free Beyond Sausage is following in the footsteps of its burger counterpart with an Australian launch at ethical fast food chain Lord of the Fries (LOTF).

US cult brand Beyond Meat company launched its Beyond Burger in Australia late last year into IGA stores nationally and in Coles supermarkets across NSW and at LOTF stores.

The Beyond Sausage is made from pea, fava bean and rice proteins and is soy and GMO-free. It is said to ‘look, sizzle and satisfy just like a regular pork sausage’ and comes in three varieties: Original Bratwurst; Sweet Italian; and Hot Italian.

“As the largest 100% vegan fast food joint in the Southern Hemisphere, we’re thrilled to be offering our customers the first bite of another great plant-based innovation,” LOTF co-founder Mark Koronczyk said.

“We’re proud to be continuing a great partnership with a like-minded pioneer in the ethical food industry.”

The Beyond Meat sausage will be available for a Premium upgrade with LOTF’s tasty hot dog range, Melbourne, Chicago and Tijuana for an additional $4.
