Australian Beer Company and Coopers Brewery are throwing their weight behind this year's beer, cider and food festival, GABS.

Australian Beer Company, a joint venture between Casella and Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) that makes craft beer brand Yenda Beer, has teamed up with GABS organisers and Brewmanity to construct a giant Ferris wheel inside the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton, Victoria.

Dubbed the Yenda Wheel of Beer, the creation aims to entertain the 20,000-plus festival goers and, through a partnership with Brewmanity, all ticket sales proceeds will go towards the Cure for MND Foundation.

GABS (Great Australian Beer SpecTapular), kicks off in Melbourne on 20 May, Sydney on 27 May and and Auckland on 18 June, and according to its organisers it will attract 30,000 attendees.

A large range of festival beers and ciders are also being brewed exclusively for GABS 2016, and Australian Beer Company will be debuting its Wattle Seed Ale (ABV 6%), brewed with native Black Wattle Seed and delivering sweet hazelnut notes.

Coopers is also launching a limited edition beer at GABS which will make its way in kegs only around Australian pubs.

Named Brew A, it's a US-style IPA that was mimics the first brew the company’s founder, Thomas Cooper, ever made. Brew A is ABV 6%, and has 60 bitterness units, and only 1500 kegs (around 70,000 litres) is being brewed.
