Vok Beverages has relaunched Beenleigh, the historic Australian rum brand it bought last year, with new packaging, improved premium liquid, and a new product.

The varieties in the premium sipping rum portfolio are Dark 5 Year Old Rum, and White Rum. The new arrival, Beenleigh Honey, is Australia’s first honey-infused rum and is based on two-year old dark rum blended with Ligurian honey from Cliffords Farm on Kangaroo Island.

“This is a rum infused with honey so the first taste you'll get is the rum, followed by the honey,” said Beenleigh's head distiller, John Mulraney.

Beenleigh is Australia’s oldest distillery, and was registered in 1884. It's distillery is heritage-listed.

Vok Beverages, which owns a number of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverage brands, including Rebellion Bay Spiced Rum and Bearded Lady Bourbon, now holds full ownership of the Beenleigh Distilling Company and Beenleigh brand.

Mulraney said the historic Queensland distillery had been through some good times and some tough times throughout its history, and it had survived three major floods in 1887, 1947 and 1974.
