Arnott’s has created a new range of mini cakes inspired by a number of its best-known biscuits.

Cake versions of Mint Slice, Iced VoVo, Caramel Crowns and Monte Carlo were unveiled this week and will go on sale only at Coles in the bakery or packaged bread section.

“We are often asked why we don’t bake cakes, so we dug into our flavour archives for inspiration from some of our most loved and iconic brands,” Ally Doubé, Arnott’s brand manager said.

The cake range aims to revitalise moments shared over tea time, Arnott's said, and the cakes have a similar flavour profile to their biscuit equivalents, and in some instances, the same ingredients.

Iced VoVo Sponge Cakes are made from vanilla sponge and topped with pale pink fondant. They have a red raspberry filling and are sprinkled with desiccated coconut.

Mint Slice Cakes are a dark chocolate cake, filled with a mint crème that is made with the mint oil from Mint Slice.

Caramel Crowns Brownies have a brownie base, are filled with caramel and are finished with a milk choc layer.

Monte Carlo Cakes are a honey-coloured mini cake, made with golden syrup and coconut, with a raspberry jam swirl.
