Quality Assurance Officer at Arnott’s Australia, Rebecca Stringfellow, has won the 2014 SAI Global QA Management scholarship.

The scholarship, announced at the recent 2014 HACCP Conference, is judged by food safety industry experts, and enables an individual in the food industry to complete the Diploma of Food Industry QA Management.

The scholarship is designed to provide the skills and knowledge for personnel who are expected to take on the roles and responsibilities related to QA Management.

As part of the submission process, applicants were required to write an 800 word article on a food safety topic of their choice.

SAI Global said Stringfellow's well thought out piece explored the science behind the packaging of baby food, and the judges agreed Rebecca’s application demonstrated passion for food safety and a commitment to furthering her career in the industry.

Stringfellow said: “As a driven person I am impelled to learn and grow, but finding that perfect mentor who has time to help me to build my understanding has been difficult given the time pressures associated with a manufacturing plant. That's why when I saw the scholarship I knew I had to apply.”
