The latest food and beverage trends among exhibitors have been revealed by organisers of the world's largest international food industry trade show, Anuga.

Anuga Drinks, for instance, has attracted over 450 exhibitors, with the fruit juice, water and soft drinks segment strongly represented.

Organisers say the trend towards naturalness and functionality is growing worldwide and the diversity of products is on the rise.

According to organisers, energy drinks also remain an important theme, and beer is well represented as well as an attractively presented selection of wine.

According to organisers, Anuga Dairy will see around 380 exhibitors, and they are predicting opportunities in new markets for dairy companies.

They point to increasing urbanisation and changing dietary habits in countries that currently have a low consumption and high population growth like Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Anuga Meat, meanwhile, has attracted around 850 exhibitors representing the entire spectrum of meat production, according to organisers.

This includes unprocessed meat products, meat preparations and convenience products, fine sausage and ham products and regional specialties.

Organisers say meat production and consumption is expected to increase worldwide, especially for poultry meat, and they also say the market share of pork is on the rise.
