Tuscany Cheese is one of Australia’s largest suppliers of premium cheese for use on pizza, sandwiches, and salads to the major supermarket chains, retailers and manufacturers.
The company specialises in contract packing, as well as shredding, slicing and blocking of cheese, and is known for its quality and rapid delivery to high-volume clients.
Australia’s domestic cheese production is now worth almost $1.95 billion a year, so for companies like Tuscany, fast growth to meet rising demand requires investment in plant and facilities.
With this in mind, the company recently needed to fast-track a flooring solution for its production facility in Wauchope, NSW.
Tuscany turned to flooring company Roxset, which specialises in designing tailored systems in very challenging environments such as dairy processing. It offers solutions which comply with the strict hygiene requirements of HACCP and AQIS.
Tuscany’s floor needed to be slip-resistant, with a heavy-duty protective layer and ability to stand up to aggressive corrosion in the case of acid attack.
The flooring provider also needed to be flexible enough to work around its demanding production schedules and deliver on time.
Tuscany chose Roxset’s SE Epoxy trowel-on system because it was able to meet all these requirements. The Roxset SE3 HACCP system, at a thickness of 6mm, was installed over 700sqm at its facility.
“Roxset delivered a high-quality, highly functional and ultra-hygienic system which meets all the demands of our growing business,” Tuscany Cheese operations manager Sanjay Kumar said.
“It was also flexible enough to do everything we asked for. They met all our needs and we were very impressed.”
