Sydney-based Workout Meals has launched a dedicated range of ready meals specifically designed for air-fryers, as Australian households gravitate towards the benchtop appliances.

Workout Meals was founded in 2012 by two gym enthusiasts who realised there was a market for pre-made healthy food. The company now offers a menu of over 50 meals to choose from, that are delivered to over 3000 locations across New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria.

Like the rest of the Workout Meal range, the 12 air fryer designed meals are made up of chef-crafted options that are macro-friendly, high in protein, and low in fat. Each meal comes in heat-safe, eco-friendly sugarcane packaging that cooks in under 15 minutes.

The air-fryer range contains 12 meals so far, with four set to launch within the next few weeks.

There are four new air fryer meals set to launch in coming weeks to meet demand and more recipes under development.

Workout Meals co-founder, Tomi Jurlina, said air-fryers are all about convenience and so are the company’s meals, so it made sense to adapt the recipes for a different format.

“We’ve been blown away by their popularity – our sales have tripled since we launched the meals 6 weeks ago,” said Jurlina.

“We have never seen a reaction to a new product like this before – it’s swiftly become our best selling range. All our meals are cooked to order fresh with nothing frozen so we’ve had to bring in extra hands in our kitchens to keep up with the demand.

“Our Southern Fried Chicken and Chicken Parmigiana have been standout favourites so far. I think the air fryer makes the meals crispier and tastier and we’re able to give customers the same convenience but with an extra boost in taste and texture.”

According to the Food Safety Information Council, 2 in 3 Australian households own an air fryer, with 54 per cent using it weekly and 38 per cent, several times a week.

Workout Meals are sold as individual meals, in meal packs or as subscriptions, with current meals in the air fryer range including:

  • Chicken Parmigiana
  • Lamb Moussaka
  • Peppercorn Steak and Chips
  • Beef Lasagne
  • BBQ Beef Mac and Cheese
  • Japanese Katsu Curry
  • Cheese Pesto Omlette
  • Shakshuka with Egg and Spinach
  • Southern Fried Chicken
  • Supercharged Veggie Frittatta
  • Sweet Potato and Beef Mex Bowl
  • Loaded Wedges

The range is available to order at workoutmeals.com.au.
