A new variety of high altitude wines from Cumulus Vineyards are hitting the market, bringing the vines from New South Wales’ cool-climate Orange region to more consumers.

The new Alte range, from the Italian ‘Terra Alte’ meaning high lands, is made from 25-year-old vines, grown at 600 metres above sea level.

Cumulus Vineyards CEO Tim Jones said: “As custodians of a 508-hectare estate in the Orange Wine Region, our goal was to create a premium wine that showcases the potential greatness of our winemaking region and the importance of altitude.”

“Alte offers a point of difference to our established Rolling & Climbing ranges that we know will introduce our wines to an entirely new consumer.”

Cumulus Vineyards Alte range has two varieties – Chardonnay and Shiraz – both available for RRP $22.99 at independent retailers.
