Iconic Kentucky distillery, Wild Turkey, is bringing its limited-edition Jimmy Russell's 70th Anniversary 8-Year-Old Bourbon to Australia, in celebration of a 70 year legacy.

Wild Turkey’s master distiller, Jimmy Russell, joined the company in 1954 and has become the heart of the brand and a living legend in the world of whiskey. His philosophy of doing things the traditional way, even when the industry favoured change, has earned him global respect.

“I’ve never worked a day in my life. The day I do, I’ll retire. Until then, I’ll keep making the bourbon I love,” said Russell.

Wild Turkey Jimmy Russell's 70th Anniversary features Russell’s signature 8-year-old, 101-proof bourbon, along with an additional blend of 8- to 9-year-old whiskeys that were hand-selected from a few of his favourite rickhouses.

The resulting pour is a symphony of flavours, including oak, honey, cinnamon, and tobacco on the nose, and a palate of sweet cream, butterscotch, dark cherry, and rich chocolate.

Campari Australia managing director, Jacopo Borsa, said Jimmy Russell's 70th Anniversary 8-Year-Old Bourbon is a tribute to a true icon in the world of whiskey.

“This limited-edition release embodies the tradition, passion, and flavour that Wild Turkey is renowned for, and we couldn't be more thrilled to share it with bourbon lovers across the country.”

Wild Turkey Jimmy Russell's 70th Anniversary 8-Year-Old Bourbon is available for a limited time only at Dan Murphys, BWS, First Choice and selected independent retailers across Australia, for RRP $135.
