The Gospel has launched their Melbourne-made whiskey bitters under its The Dispensary label.

The whiskey bitters are the third release under The Dispensary and are being introduced as part of Rye-July, a one-month celebration of whiskey made from rye grain.

Using the same botanicals expected in traditional bitters, The Gospel has added a whiskey base to enhance the flavour without diluting them.

“All the botanicals selected for our Whiskey Bitters mirror the flavours we get from our Solera Rye. In an Old Fashioned cocktail, the bitters should serve to turn the flavours present in our rye whiskey up to 11,” said The Gospel distiller Lex Poulsen.

To create a distinct flavour, the bitters are steeped in orange peel, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, vanilla, star anise and other botanicals to compliment the rye whiskey.

Whiskey bitters will be exclusively available on The Gospel’s website for RRP $19 for 100ml.
