Australian start-up Unami Pantry has launched a ready-to-use Japanese sauce range.

The two sauces – Miso Glaze and Teriyaki Sauce – are based on miso paste and made in Tasmania using 100 per cent Australian ingredients where possible.

Umami Pantry said the sauces were in response to growing demand for Japanese cuisine products. It was an opportunity to bring Japanese flavours into a ready-to-use sauce format using fermented, certified organic and healthy ingredients.

Miso has multiple health benefits, containing probiotics, enzymes and amino acids which aid in digestion and support heart and brain health.

The Miso Glaze is ideal for eggplant or pumpkin and the Teriyaki Sauce can be used as marinade, salad dressing or dipping sauce.

The sauces are available online and at specialty grocers in a 300ml glass bottle for retail, and 1 or 5 litre bottles for foodservice.
