Irish whiskey brand Two Stacks has launched a Double Irish Cream Liqueur in the Australian market, positioning it as a whiskey-forward alternative to mainstream Irish cream products.

The liqueur is built on Two Stacks’ ‘The First Cut’ Signature Blend, which combines grain, pot still, double malt and peated malt whiskeys aged for over four years. This is paired with double cream sourced from County Tipperary, Ireland. The brand says it uses a significantly higher proportion of whiskey than the category standard, giving the liquid more depth and structure than typical Irish cream expressions.

Tasting notes include milk chocolate, vanilla bean and caramel on the nose, with toffee, soft cocoa and a subtle wisp of smoke on the palate. The finish is described as clean, with the whiskey cutting through the cream.

The product is produced in partnership with Robert A. Merry & Co., one of Ireland’s most awarded Irish cream producers. It has received international recognition, including Irish Cream Liqueur of the Year at the 2025 New York International Spirits Competition and Best Liqueur at the 2025 LA Spirits Awards.

Co-founder, Shane McCarthy, said the launch reflects broader consumer appetite for products with both indulgence and provenance.

“There’s a growing appetite for drinks that feel indulgent but still have structure and quality behind them. Irish Cream has always had a place in people’s homes, particularly in the cooler months, but we wanted to create something that feels more considered and more aligned with today’s drinking culture,” McCarthy said.

Two Stacks Double Irish Cream is suited to neat pours, over ice, or in cocktail applications. It is available nationally and online at $35 for a 700ml bottle.
