Barossa Valley winery, Seppeltsfield, has unveiled a significant release – launching its 1925 100 Year Old Para Vintage Tawny, matured in oak for 100 years.

Seppeltsfield was established in 1851 and has been internationally renowned for its fortifieds highlighted by the Centennial Collection – the world’s only unbroken lineage of single vintage Tawny dating back to 1878. The 100 year release coincides with the day the Seppelt family moved into the homestead in 1851.

Seppeltsfield chief winemaker, Fiona Donald, said as custodians of the Seppeltsfield Centennial Collection, the company is proud of the amazing legacy and vision shown by Benno Oscar Seppelt, son of founders Joseph and Johanna Seppelt.

“The 1925 100 Year Old Para Vintage Tawny is the 48th consecutive release from the Centennial Cellar. The wine shows a deep mahogany colour, with a vibrant amber edge,” said Donald.

“Immediately luscious, with incredible volume and mouthfeel, lingering flavours of bittersweet dark chocolate and hazelnuts. The freshness and length is driven by blood orange acidity.”

The 1925 100 Year Old Para Vintage Tawny comes in a 100ml bottle presented in a black wooden gift box, with each bottle individually numbered and authenticated for collection purposes, and featuring signatures from both the Seppeltsfield executive chairman and proprietor – Warren Randall and the great, great grandson of Joseph and Johanna Seppelt – Bill Seppelt.

The release will be marked by the Barossa region, in a special presentation at the 2025 Barons of Barossa Declaration of Vintage taking place at the Barossa Cellar.

The 1925 100 Year Old Para Vintage Tawny 100ml is available from Seppeltsfield Cellar Door or online at seppeltsfield.com.au for RRP $1800, with shipping possible worldwide.
