Vok Beverages has launched a category-disrupting flavoured whiskey liqueur – Real McCoy – to meet the evolving tastes of modern whiskey consumers and capitalise on a growing demand for premium spirits in Australia.

Whiskey is one of the most popular spirits in Australia, with bourbon coming out in the top position. The flavoured whiskey category is also accelerating – growing at 3 per cent year-on-year with popular flavours including cinnamon, apple, and peanut butter.

Real McCoy is positioned to drive momentum with a bold identity, innovative flavour profiles, and multi-format versatility. The company said it targets the emerging generation of drinkers seeking flavour-led experiences and premium, story-driven brands.

The Real McCoy range is launching with two exciting flavours, the creamy vanilla and butterscotch tinted Salted Caramel, and Buttered Popcorn, featuring notes of freshly popped popcorn and caramel with a subtle toasted oak finish.

Vok Beverages brand manager, Johann Einarson, said flavoured whiskey is no longer a trend – it’s an established, fast-growing category with enormous commercial potential.

“With Real McCoy, we’ve created a product that not only taps into this demand but elevates the offering with craft, clarity and attitude. It’s accessible yet premium, highly versatile, and unapologetically bold – everything the new whiskey consumer is looking for.

“Real McCoy is a commercially-minded product built for today’s market – high-impact flavour innovation, competitive price point, and genuine versatility across retail and on-premise. It’s exactly what the category has been calling for,” he said.

Real McCoy will be available at Dan Murphy’s stores nationally from May 2025 for RRP $55 in a 700ml bottle, as well as in a 50ml serve for $8.00. The company stated expanded distribution opportunities across national and independent retailers are in progress.
