Powerade has launched a fresh new formula for Australian exercise enthusiasts, Powerade ION4 Next Gen Electrolyte Blend, alongside a challenge to win some cash.

The refreshed blend is made in Australia and scientifically formulated with sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium to replace electrolytes and fluid lost in sweat, and to help sustain performance via fast hydration.

The company has launched its 5K for $5K challenge to encourage Australians to go for a personal best while testing out the refreshed drink.

Coca-Cola South Pacific senior marketing director, Kate Miller, said, whether you're gunning for a personal best or just on the lookout for a fun new way to keep fit, the 5K for $5K challenge is the ultimate opportunity to get active and be rewarded for your efforts.

“Our iconic Powerade range has a new formula and fresh new look,” said Miller.

“With more of the electrolytes calcium and magnesium it’s our PB formula and we can’t wait for people to try it. Aussies, it’s time to rally your friends, grab some Powerade, and get moving! Don’t just take our word for it – try our PB, sign up online and show us your PB.”

Powerade’s Next Gen Electrolyte Blend is available in flavours Mountain Blast, Berry Ice, Blackcurrant, Gold Rush, Lemon Lime, Kiwi Pineapple, Strawberry Lemon, and Grape in a 600ml bottle, as well as select flavours in 1L and 1.5L sizes. The new formula is now available at major supermarkets.
