Oakridge Wines has released five new vintage wines in its prestige 864 label. The portfolio is drawn from 2023 and 2024 vintages and showcases hand-picked micro-selections from Oakridge’s premium Yarra Valley sites.

The release includes:

  • 2023 864 Funder & Diamond Drive Block Chardonnay;
  • 2023 864 Henk Aqueduct Block Chardonnay;
  • 2024 864 Hazeldene Block 1 Pinot Noir;
  • 2023 864 Oakridge Close Planted Block Syrah; and
  • 2023 864 Oakridge Winery Block Cabernet Sauvignon.

In the recently released Halliday Wine Companion 2026, four of the new 864 wines received outstanding scores of 97 points or higher and Top Rated by Variety. Both the 2023 Funder & Diamond and 2023 Henk Aqueduct Chardonnays were awarded 98 points.

Chief winemaker, David Bicknell, said 864 was where the “very best” of site, variety, and season are brought together.

“These are the wines that show an extra dimension – a certain finesse and purity that lifts them above the rest. For me, they capture something ethereal, and they stand as the clearest expression of what we strive for at Oakridge,” Bicknell said.

“We’re always looking for fragrance, subtlety, and a true reflection of the season and the sites that they come from. But it doesn’t happen without people. Yes, these are exceptional vineyards that produce outstanding wines, but it’s the people behind it that contribute to it, that really make these wines sing,” he said.

Packaging News

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
