My Muscle Chef has announced the addition of Plant-Based Protein Cookies in three flavours to their snack menu, now providing over 30 plant based options for consumers.

My Muscle Chef CEO & co-founder Tushar Menon said the company had seen a continued rise in consumers' preferences towards plant-based diets, or incorporating plant-based eating into their daily lives.

In 2020, the University of Adelaide found that nearly one in five (19.8 per cent) Australians were consciously reducing their meat consumption, and the transition to a predominantly plant-based diet is fairly recent with more than half (55 per cent) of those surveyed who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet, having done so for less than five years.

“We’re always listening to our customers and were able to identify an opportunity in our product portfolio to expand with a plant-based snack,” Menon.

The Plant-Based Protein Cookies include 20g of plant-based protein from wheat, and gut-friendly prebiotic fibre to help support digestive health, and come in Almond Maple, Peanut Butter Choc, and Coconut Macadamia flavours.

The My Muscle Chef Plant-Based Protein Cookies are also a line extension of the Protein Cookies that launched last year. Within 12 months of launch, the protein cookies achieved a market leading position in the Nutritional Cookies category across both independents (43 per cent share), and petrol and convenience (61 per cent share).

The new My Muscle Chef Plant-Based Protein Cookies are available online and at stockists.
